/Blog Post #6 /The Meatrix

       Actually I already knew about the bad conditions of the factory farms before watching the Meatrix.  I have interested in food, especially meat products. I like to eat not only grilled any kind of meat, but also dairy products. So when I choose some food like them, I am usually prior that how the company made the products is believable and honesty. When we go to the supermarkets to buy meat or dairy products, we couldn't find these products from family or small farms easily. Many products from the huge corporate factory farms are occupied most supermarkets. According to the a number of media sources about the reporting to the bad companies, I think the quality of family or small farms' products are better than corporate factories' products. However, why we could not buy them from family and small farms is the price of most of them is more expensive than factory farms products. Because the family or small farms don't have enough and low cost procedures which their products go to the consumer. However giant factory farms already arranged the low price and quick processes. In this situations, the USDA needs to put more money to the family and small farms to build the processes. Unless so we can get the products so reasonable price. However, when I take this problems through my view, it doesn't look solved quickly. So what we can do for the small and family farms is to buy their products even if they are expensive. From today I will buy the products from small and family farms and I completely don't buy the products from the big factory farms' products.

How To Be GREEN at Home


According to the lecture, there are many way to save energy, go to Green and save the GREEN at home.
First of all, the instuctor suggested that using power strips can reduce power 75% more energy at home.
Second, cutting back a shower time can bereduced water and don't leave the water running. Also the instructor mentioned that to use energy saving appliances even though thoes are a little bit expensive.
Finally he refered to using natural light that I really got an impressed. Actually, earlly he mentioned was well-known way to save energy but using natural light was a fresh idea to save energy. After I go back home, I drew aside a curtain and took advantage of the ntural light. To be honest, I was so bored during the all of lectures but I got a wisdom of living.^^

Smart Grid  from ConEdison

A smart grid puts information and communication technology into electricity generation, delivery, and consumption, making systems cleaner, safer, and more reliable and efficient.
According to the explanation of the instructor from ConEdison, all of customers will benefit from increased reliability, added capacity through increased system efficiency, reduced outage response time, and reduced operating and maintenance costs. ConEdison still put efforts to be improved monitoring, architectual change(3G), better algorithms and distribution generation.Also they are studying about the future smart grid like Energy Storage Integration, Road Management & control  and Electric Vehicles.

At the first part of lecture about the Smart Grid, I felt a lot difficult. Of course I could see the pictures, graphs and photoes but I was still hardly confused. I have never concerned about the electric system before. Furthermore I couldn't understand what the instructor's pronunciation so I just looked up the projection screen. While I was watching the screen, I was understanding unconsciously what the instructor said. Even the lecture finisfed up, I didn't have a full understanding about the smart grid but I could have a general knowledge of the smart grid. The effects of the smart grid are reduction energy, improvement of energy's quality.

   According to the article, many teenagers in suburban community hang out and spend their summer evening time at fast food parking lot like Dunkin' Donuts,  Wendy's, Taco Bell , Burger King and so on. Most of them were boys and others were girls. Why they hang out at there like a fast food parking lot is there is nothing else to do and no where to go at night. Usually, most of fast food restaurants open 24 hours and offer huge parking spaces even the restaurants are in suburban. A parking lot may be an ugly, utilitarian place but this was as much an American rite of suburban adolescence as it was a local one. Furthermore  it can be irresistibly attractive, a blacktop oasis safe from parents and teachers.

     To quote from some parts of this article, most of them were polite kids acting cool but several boys had Mohawks topped with baseball caps with the tightly curved bill favored by dorm room dudes: something of a "punk rocker meets Abercrombie & Fitch" look. In addition, some girls went on explaned how they kept stay out so late. They told a lie to their parents or usually thier mothers would cover for them if their fathers called the next day. Most of them were already drunken and some of the guys began teasing the girls and chasing them around. The girls yelled "Free dome shots," a euphemism for oral sex. They were  only joking, they said. When they make a trouble, the police cars inevitably descend. Then the kids scatter, regroup and move to another lot whose coordinates are agreed upon over a network of cellphones.

     
      After reading this article, I thought rash expansion of fast food restaurants has bad influence to teenagers. The fast food companies just open stores and never concerned about around stores. That is the purpose of all if they make money. Also, the government don't give a permission that open a fast food store to the fast food companies easily. Furthermore, in order to prevent that the teenagers comit  bad doing at night, the government disburses a lot of money to bulid facilities for the suburban teenagers. On the surface, to be occupied by many fast food restaurants, it looks urban city and getting grow prosperous city. However

the city would get in  many trouble internally.

The Budweiser has been called "The Beer of Kings" since the 16th century. Adolphus Busch changed this slogan to "The King of the Beers".The Budweiser brand is promoted in motorsports and has also has sponsored many sports games.

The Budweiser is one of my favorite beer in the U.S because it is pretty cheap and taste also good.
